Serving LGBTQ+ Couples

Love is love. And your relationship with your partner deserves to be captured authentically!

As your photographer/videographer, I want you to feel as comfortable as possible, so here are a few steps I take to make sure you feel respected and cared for as a LGBTQ+ couple:

  • Use inclusive language: I make sure to use inclusive language when communicating with my LGBTQ+ clients. This includes using gender-neutral terms like "partner" and "spouse," and respecting my clients' preferred pronouns and identity.

  • Be an ally: I actively support and advocate for the rights of the LGBTQ+ community, both in my personal and professional life. This includes participating in events and initiatives that promote LGBTQ+ visibility and acceptance.

  • Respect my clients' wishes: I always make sure to respect my clients' wishes and preferences when it comes to their wedding photography. This includes being sensitive to any specific requests or concerns they may have about how their relationship is represented in the photos.

  • Create a safe environment: I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment for all of my clients, including my LGBTQ+ couples. This means being understanding, open-minded, and respectful of all individuals.

Having the freedom to marry is only one aspect of marriage equality. Regardless of a person's sexual orientation or gender identity, they should all be treated equally under the law and valued for who they are as people. We've come a long way, but it's critical that we continue the battle for equality so that everyone can benefit from marriage and its advantages, including access to health care, employment benefits, and other rights and protections granted to married couples.

Marriage is the most powerful bond in the universe, and I'd love to be the photographer or videographer for this wonderful part of your life. If you have any questions or concerns about how I serve my LGBTQ+ couples, please feel free to reach out. And in the meantime, enjoy the resources below to help with your wedding planning.
